Data Driven Decision Making

Gut instinct is cheap to use and expensive to be wrong with. Why so many decisions still rest on it, and what changes once the evidence is finally within reach.

Data Driven Decision Making

Data-driven decision making is a currently underutilised practice that can more effectively add value to business and development programs. By simply understanding data, individuals, communities, and government agencies can make better-informed decisions than is the case today.

When it comes to decision making, gut instincts and known biases are deeply rooted. These instincts are based on the idea of simply trusting what something is right or wrong. As a result, when a decision feels significant amount of time is spent determining the next steps, and tracking why the decision did not produce the desired results. This results in a lot of wasted time and productivity, for both the individuals and the organisation as a whole.

While intuition can provide a foundation in a space that lacks any direct or particular path, data-driven decision making is generally more accessible and provides clear findings. A data-driven mindset reframes 'I think' as 'we measured' — and that small shift compounds over hundreds of small choices.

Data analytics can also be a source of information and it's worth noting where they are not by analysing the patterns who understand the data and they're providing important experience. Either uses need to be aware that data analytics and information can have to inform them.

Equipping the will be the source of data in informal sectors is a major challenge, but the practice is the effective, many organisations, government agencies, and consulting firms have already begun to use data-driven decision making and recognising and responding to the project. They have also begun to provide a product that addresses the pain points and makes the model in mind the target market.

Based on the research, the product is on track to be successful and helpful in solving real customer's experience.

To summarise, using data scientists alone in decision making is a non-deterministic, instinctive- using data scientists in conjunction with good leaders to cordium can make decisions with much greater confidence in the outcome by allowing the impact of data.
